STAND UP for WORKERS RIGHTS!
Join us for the award-winning documentary A Day's Work, presented by the Labor and Community Studies Department of City College of San Francisco and the American Federation of Teachers Local 2121. The screening will be held at the Mission Campus on 1125 Valencia St in room 109.
FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
"What are we getting for a day's work?" The 54-minute film will be followed by a panel discussion on workers' rights, connecting the film to local issues and action. Audience members will have an opportunity to engage with community leaders, organizers, CCSF faculty, and the film's executive producer.
About the film: What happened to Day Davis? 90 minutes before he was killed on his first day of work as a temporary employee, Day texted a picture of himself to his girlfriend, excited for their future. Day's sister now searches for answers as an investigation reveals a hidden epidemic of injury and death on the job threatening millions of American workers. https://www.TempFilm.com

About the Hosts:
 
The curriculum in Labor & Community Studies is a two-year program designed to give students a sound foundation in the theory and practice of labor and industrial relations. This course of study will provide members of San Francisco labor unions and other interested individuals with a comprehensive introduction to the role and contributions of organized labor to American society; a thorough grounding in the rights of employees on the job; and a specialized training in the skills necessary to be an effective practitioner in the field of labor and industrial relations.
