Two Lines Press and the Goethe-Institut are celebrating the publication of East German author Wolfgang Hilbig’s career-defining work 'The Sleep of the Righteous'. The acclaimed translator Isabel Fargo Cole will join Two Lines Press’s Editorial Director CJ Evans at the Goethe-Institut in San Francisco for a conversation about the evocative work of the writer László Krasznahorkai calls “an artist of immense stature.”
Cole will read from her translation of Wolfgang Hilbig’s 'The Sleep of the Righteous'. She will also discuss Hilbig’s career and work—as well as what it was like to translate the enigmatic prose of a German master—with CJ Evans.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served.
