Documentary on Childhood Hunger to Air

If you consider America the most powerful and wealthiest country in the world then here’s a shocking fact: over 16.4 million children in America were living in poverty in 2010, and most likely more in 2012.

The non-profit Share Our Strength, on a mission to end childhood hunger in this country, is trying to shed light on this issue with the documentary “Hunger Hits Home“.

Narrated by Jeff Bridges, the group’s national spokesman, the documentary “takes a first-hand look at the crisis of childhood hunger in America through the eyes of the parents, children, anti-hunger activists, educators and politicians on the frontlines of the battle.”

Share Our Strength also put on Taste of the Nation in San Francisco at the end of March to raise funds for this important cause. The Food Network will be airing the film this Saturday, April 14 at 8pm.
