BBQ, Blues and Booze Thursdays at FIVE

FIVE Restaurant in Berkeley is launching a new special featuring some of Executive Chef Banks White’s favorite summertime dishes.

The Thursday night dinner special “BBQ, Blues and Booze” kicks off on July 12 (tonight) and will be offered in the dining room and bar, featuring a prix fixe menu ($28 per person). Guests will have their choice of cuts of meat (Niman Ranch St. Louis Style Pork Ribs, 14-Hour Smoked Beef Brisket, Mary’s Organic BBQ Chicken), side dishes (Creamy Coleslaw, Brentwood White Corn on the Cob with Lime, chili Butter and Cotija Cheese, Slow Cooked Molasses Baked Beans) and dessert, which will change weekly. Wine pairings are also available as are some of FIVE’s Summer Coolers ($8 each), listed below:

Nanas Lemonade – gin | lemon | lavender simple

Pirate Punch – rum | pineapple | orange | cranberry

Sweet Spot Ice Tea – pear vodka | orange blossom | lemon | ice tea

Black Sands – cucumber tequila | lime | simple | smoked black salt rim

The menu is an ode to White’s Southern roots and family traditions as the meal will be served on picnic tablecloths.

The special summer dinners will run every Thursday through September 6.

FIVE is located at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza (2086 Allston Way) in downtown Berkeley.
