About Hell/a Mexican
Hell/a Mexican is an appreciation of the tragicomedy that is existing on American soil with foreign roots. These stories shed light on the boundless experience of living and learning through your identity. This collection, much like us, reaches for hope; Sometimes we find it, sometimes we don't.
About Kevin Madrigal Galindo
Kevin Madrigal Galindo is a food justice advocate that is reimagining health with ancestral Mexican cooking. He is a first-generation Chicano hijo de su chingada madre from South San Francisco by way of Zapopan, Jalisco. In 2016, he co-founded Farming Hope to provide employment opportunities in food for folks experiencing homelessness. Kevin is a recipient of the Brooklyn Poets Retreat Fellowship for 2021, and his work has been featured in The Boiler, Bozalta, The Antilang Project, The San Franciscan, Edible East Bay, Civil Liberties United, Quiet Lightning, and Xicana Vegan.
Kevin shines light on the comunidad whose work supports countless American lives. In his free time, you can find him feeling his feelings to highly curated R&B playlists.

Katie Aliféris (ah-lee-FEH-ree) is a poet from San Francisco, California whose work often focuses on honoring heritage, life with a chronic illness/disability, and uplifting The Matriarchy. She has been a featured performer at local and international literary series and events, including The Melbourne Fringe Festival, North Beach First Fridays at City Lights Books, and the San Francisco State University Center for Modern Greek Studies. Her work has been published in various anthologies, journals, and websites, including 9 Muses News, Lucent Dreaming, and the San Francisco Public Library's Poem of the Day. Dena Rod is a queer Iranian American poet and essayist who focuses on illuminating their diasporic experiences. Described by The Bold Italic as a "verbose advocate," they've been widely published in literary journals and anthologies such as The Rumpus, My Shadow is My Skin: Voices from the Iranian Diaspora, and Butter Press. In 2020, they debuted the chapbook swallow a beginning and toured with RADAR Production's Sister Spit. Scattered Arils is their first poetry collection.
