About the Event

Green Apple Books is excited to cohost a celebration of Alta Journal's Epic Tales of Survival Issue, with special guests Matthew Zapruder, Peter Fish, and Keenan Norris, who will be reading selections from their work in Alta.

Join us on Tuesday, May 30, at 7 p.m. Pacific time at Green Apple Books on the Park to raise a glass to Alta's Issue 23. Featuring stories about car-theft vigilantes in Portland, poisoned marshmallows in early-1900s Carmel, raging bulls, wild mountain lions, and more than a few bears, this issue of Alta will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Alta's editors will be joined by Zapruder, whose latest book is Story of a Poem: A Memoir (Unnamed Press); Fish, who wrote about The Winning of Barbara Worth for Alta; and Norris, the author, most recently, of Chi Boy: Native Sons and Chicago Reckonings (Mad Creek Books). This event is free to attend, but please register in advance.
