Mt. Diablo Peace & Justice Center Announces the winners of the 2017 Local Heroes of Peace and Justice Awards who will be honored at the Center's 9th Annual Awards Dinner!
Local Heroes for Peace Award:
Tri-Valley CAREs, an organization(Communities Against a Radioactive Environment) based in Livermore and Marylia Kelley, the Executive Director of TVC, for their decades-long contributions to global nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament - and for improving environmental cleanup at Livermore Lab.
Local Heroes for Justice:
Northgate Uncapped and Mt. Diablo Education Association - jointly awarded for their work in curtailing the secessionist movement in Mt. Diablo School District and keeping the district united, thereby promoting diversity in our community.
The public is invited to the awards dinner which includes a full-course meal, silent auction, raffle, live music and more!
Tickets: $65 General Public / $50 Peace Center Members* / $500 reserved table for 8-10 (members or non-members).
Tickets may be purchased online or call the Center office (925) 933-7850 or mail in a check by November 10, 2017 payable to MTDPJC 1035 Carol Lane, Lafayette, CA 94549. Please include names of attendees. Childcare available on site. Must be arranged BEFORE November 10th.
