About the project, 99 poems in 99 days, the editor of the anthology, Dean Rader, says, “Since Walt Whitman, American poetry has been about democracy. It's been about reaching people on issues they care about in a voice they recognize.†The original project posted 99 original poems over 99 days by major American poets, mid-career writers, students, and ordinary Americans. It attempted to provide a plurality of voices, approaches, and visions.
Dean Rader’s debut collection of poems, Works and Days, won the T.S. Eliot Poetry Prize. His most recent collection of poems, Landscape Portrait Figure Form (Omnidawn Chapbook Series, 2014) was named one of the best books of the year by the Barnes & Noble Review.
