7th Annual Texas Exes San Francisco Chapter Chili Cookoff Fundraiser

Join us for our seventh annual San Francisco Bay Area Texas Exes Chili Cookoff! Whether you come to taste or you want to compete, it is our pleasure to welcome all Texas Exes and friends. For the first time this year, we're adding a queso competition to the mix! Competitor details are below.

Street parking only. The event is half a block from the 16th street BART station, so we recommend using public transportation.
Most importantly, ALL PROCEEDS benefit the Texas Exes scholarship fund! 

Price: $45 for early bird through Oct. 5. $55 after that and at the door. Alcohol and food is included. Guests under age 15 free. Sorry, no dogs allowed. 
Chili will be served between 12 and 2pm. The bar opens at noon, so get here on time!

For Chili Competitors
Texas Exes Chili Cookoff Teams (up to 2 people per team) are required to bring a minimum of 5 quarts of chili or one full 5-6 quart slow cooker. Teams are required to provide their own slow cooker or backup slow cooker. For questions about different heating methods, please feel free to send us an inquiry. Any sides or garnish (hot sauce, onions, etc) must be provided by the team along with your own serving utensils. Bay Area Texas Exes will provide serving cups for tasting, spoons for tasting and napkins. Day of the Event:Your team must arrive together to setup between 11:30 and noon with your chili pre-made and ready for warming. Wristbands will be distributed for your entire team at once and will not be split up or held for individual team members at check-in. We will have a table in the tasting area marked off for your team upon your arrival. We will have electrical outlets to help heat your pre-made chili.Judging:A panel of esteemed food critics and alumni will evaluate the chili on the following criteria:• Color• Heat• Texture• Flavor/TasteTo bean or not to bean? We'll leave that one to you, though the International Chili Society says "beans and pasta are strictly forbidden."

For Queso Competitors
Texas Exes Queso Cookoff Teams (up to 2 people per team) are required to bring a minimum of 1.5 quarts of queso. More queso is always welcome, but serving in a small slow cooker works best. Teams are required to provide their own slow cooker or backup slow cooker. For questions about different heating methods, please feel free to send us an inquiry. Any sides or garnish (cilantro, jalepenos, etc.) must be provided by the team along with your own serving utensils. Bay Area Texas Exes will provide tortilla chips, plates and napkins. Day of the Event:Your team must arrive together to setup between 11:30 and noon with your queso pre-made and ready for warming.
