On Sunday, June 10th, the Bay Area Sikh community will come together in San Francisco to commemorate the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji. who sacrificed his life for the ‘Freedom of Religion’ and 34th anniversary of the Indian government attack on Sikh religion's holiest shrine - Golden Temple in Amritsar.
The 5th Annual Remembrance March and Freedom Rally will shed some light on the historical event and aims to keep the rich Sikhs history alive for generations to come. The event is open to the public and put on by Fremont Gurdwara Sahib, one of the most prominent and influential Sikh Gurdwaras in the world outside India. The Gurdwara Sahib is open 7 days a week and holds daily programs for local Sikhs and visitors to pray and seek blessings.
The Freedom March will get underway at 12:00 p.m. at 36 2nd St. in San Francisco and be followed by a rally at Civic Center Plaza.
