2nd Course - Melon and Summer Vegetable Gazpacho with Crispy Prosciutto and Trout Roe / Domaine Tempier Rosé 2018
3rd Course - Summer Mushroom Pasta with Australian Winter Black Truffles / Domaine Tempier Bandol 2016 / Domaine Tempier ‘Miguoua’ 2010 / Domaine Tempier ‘Tourtine’ 2008
4th Course - Lamb Course with Curry and Carrots / Domaine Tempier ‘Migoua’ 1993 / Domaine Tempier ‘Tourtine’ 1985
5th Course - Cheese Course (Mild and Hard) with Peach Compote and Lavash / Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvée Spéciale 1992 (Magnum)
Domaine Tempier is one of the most highly regarded producers in all of Provence. The modern day portion of the estate’s story dates back to 1936, when Lucie ‘Lulu’ Tempier married Lucien Peyraud. Lulu’s father gifted the couple Domaine Tempier, located just outside the village of Bandol. The duo instantly became passionate for the region, choosing to dedicate their lives to honing in on the unique terroirs of the appellation. Despite other vignerons’ decisions to replace their vines with more ‘fashionable’ fruit, Lucien was drawn to Bandol’s signature variety, Mourvèdre. Although Lucien has since passed, his legacy is carried on through Lulu (who is an impressive 101 years old!), his seven children, and the estate’s current winemaker Daniel Ravier, who produces 11,000 cases of wine from the farm’s 38 hectares, farmed all organically and biodynamically.
