3DHEALS is committed to fostering health care 3D printing ecosystem worldwide. This is a private fundraising gala/event for Voice of Africa right after the main 3DHEALS2017 conference at UCSF mission bay conference. 3DHEALS2017 attendees will have priority to tickets, but the event is open to the public as well.Â
Voices of Africa is a nonprofit organization that aims to disrupt the medical supply chain getting medical tools to where they are needed when. Their current project with Cambridge and Jhpiego is exploring infectious disease diagnosis (3D printed Waterscape microscope), maternal and newborn health, HIV prevention. Eventually, they hope to increase local production capacities by creating easy to use 3D printers to spur industrial growth. The industrial growth would target employment creation for the physically challenged and undereducated youth of Africa.
#3DHEALS2017 is the first collaborative conference in U.S. aiming to create a truly collaborative global community focusing on healthcare applications using 3D printing and 3D printing related technologies (i.e. VR/AR, 3D scanning, digital manufacture, bioprinting). We realized the danger of innovating in a silo and the value of cross-discipline communications. We not only believe in the technological potential of 3D printing but even more importantly the potential of a collaborative innovative community that includes all stakeholders.
