**San Francisco Hosts 2026 National Animal Rights Day Event to Honor and Advocate for Animals**

On Sunday, June 7th, from 1-3 PM, the 16th annual National Animal Rights Day (NARD) will be commemorated at Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall in San Francisco. This 16th annual event, now observed in 95 cities in 39 countries worldwide, serves as a powerful platform to advocate for legal rights for non-human animals, inspire positive change for their care and honor the lives of animals harmed by humans.

For more information about NARD, please visit its official website at https://www.thenard.org, sign the Declaration of Animal Rights at https://www.declarationofar.org and view the 2026 San Francisco event's official Facebook event Page is: https://www.facebook.com/events/2463434830740588/

The event will feature renowned speakers in a rousing rally, followed by a march, a memorial ceremony officiated by religious leaders to pay tribute to the billions of animals who suffer due to human actions, and a celebration with new music envisioning a better future for all sentient beings.

Why This Event Matters:
o A Voice for the Voiceless: NARD raises awareness about the mistreatment of animals and promotes ethical alternatives and asks for legal protections for them in the form of a declaration of animal rights, see here: https://declarationofar.org/
o Community Engagement: Bringing together world-famous vegan advocates, animal rights activists, animal sanctuary founders and vegan entrepreneurs to stand in solidarity with the animals they care about.

Rally speakers include:
o Dr. Will Tuttle, world-renowned vegan activist and author of the bestseller "The World Peace Diet", https://www.worldpeacediet.org
o Miyoko Schinner, vegan food entrepreneur and founder of Miyoko's Creamery and the Rancho Compasión animal sanctuary https://www.ranchocompasion.org/
o Zoe Rosenberg, open rescuer animal rights activist with Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) https://www.directactioneverywhere.com/ and founder of Happy Hen animal sanctuary https://www.happyhen.org/
o Lia Wilbourn, farmed animals advocate, In Defense of Animals, https://www.idausa.org/

Media Opportunities:
