First Look: Inside ‘Splash at Thrive City’ Sports Bar Next to Chase Center

A massive new sports bar called ‘Splash at Thrive City‘ will be the premier destination for sports fans, for sure near Chase Center, but possibly for the entire Bay Area. And it opens in a few weeks; just in time for the NBA’s 2025 All-Star Weekend.

‘Splash at Thrive City’ has an ultra-premium design, a modern glam feel, and lots of classy decor. There are multiple indoor and outdoor areas, four dedicated bars each with their own vibe, more than 75 televisions, including one huge 840 square foot curved LED wall. The cherry on top is a video ticker that wraps around the ground level, keeping guests up to date with scores and breaking news. Every seat guarantees a clear view of a screen, while a DJ booth and premium sound system augment the immersive experience that puts guests in the center of the action.

We were fortunate to have an opportunity to take a peek inside the two-story, 30,000 square foot venue before its grand opening. Here’s an early look at this state-of-the-art sports bar.

Three indoor bar areas, named The Media Bar, The Study and The Rec Room, each have a combination of bar seating, high-top tables, and booths. ‘The Backyard’ is an outdoor covered patio space akin to a beer garden. In total there is 10,000 square feet of outdoor space, including pet friendly patios, and the entire building has maximum capacity close to 1,000 people. Beyond screen-viewing, patrons can play a variety of games including pop-a-shot, pool, shuffleboard, foosball and there are even golf swing suites.

The expansive spaces are decorated with wood, dark leathers, rounded edges, lots of bronze gold, along with a paint color palette consisting of classic black and whites, plus dark green and teal blue tones. Subtle details like the unique bullnosed stone bar top counters and phone charging outlets embedded in the seating booths’ sides epitomize the space’s premium look-and-feel.

Operated by Sidecar Hospitality, ‘Splash at Thrive City’ has a high-end food program that includes both sports bar classics and upscale comfort food. The cocktail program is curated by Kevin Diedrich, owner and operator of Pacific Cocktail Haven, a 2024 James Beard Award finalist for “Outstanding Bar.” The bars have 16 unique beer taps, plus a selection of natural and biodynamic wines with a focus on California producers.

Numerous areas inside ‘Splash at Thrive City’ will be available to host private events and some spaces will have the option to be reserved in advanced. Below are some digital renderings of the inside upon completion.

Thrive City, created by the Golden State Warriors and Kaiser Permanente, is the 11-acre community gathering space surrounding Chase Center. It continues to grow in terms of restaurants, retail shops, and entertainment, making it an ideal destination before, during and after both sporting events and concerts. Thrive City was built upon a shared goal of creating a healthy community center, replete with year-round programming.

Chase Center, which opened back in 2019, continues to be a magnificent multi-purpose entertainment venue for the San Francisco Bay Area.
