We will introduce the 2025 BEAD CHALLENGE!! BEAD CHALLENGE KITS will be available FREE to BSNC MEMBERS. If you cannot attend in person on that day and are a member, please be sure to read the September newsletter; there will be an order form to fill out and return. 2025 Bead Challenge, "Dusk and Midnight Symphony, Palette Play: Navy and Orange Edition"
This challenge is intended to be primarily a color theory challenge to explore balance, tension, and harmony through beadwork design.
Kits will be given, free of charge, to the requesting members who attend the August 24 meeting at the Albany Community Center. All remaining kits will be mailed, free of charge, to paid members who request them, in order of requests received, starting September 1, until they are gone. Any requests received before September 1 will be deleted. There are a total of 25 kits.
Basic Guidelines:
a. You must use, in a way that shows the beads, some of all 3 seed beads and the small metal shaped beads as well as at least one of the large discs or pumpkin shaped beads. Of course you can also use one or more of both types of large beads, but are only required to use one of the types. You may add whatever you like to complete your piece. The piece can be wearable or not, that's up to you. However, your piece must be more than 50% beads.
b. Up to 3 photos of your finished piece must be emailed to [email protected] by the deadline, May 1, 2026
c. Photos will be posted on our facebook page and people will be encouraged to vote for their favorites by June 30, 2026. Prizes will be awarded based on these votes.
1st prize: $50, 2nd $35, 3rd $20. All three winners also get a free year of membership.
