Smily, Cuddly Goats are Baaack for Goat Fest

CUESA has put on Goat Festival for 10 years; bringing herds of goats and people together for a day. Just head over to the Ferry Building Farmers Market on Saturday, April 13th. All ages are welcome (some in caprine costumes) to meet & take pics with goats, taste products from local farms & food makers, and more.

Goat Festival is a free event, but goat petting and goat cheese tasting flights require advance tickets. 🐐

“Goats are an integral part of many healthy, organic farms and CUESA’s Goat Festival seeks to connect city dwellers to this knowledge,” says CUESA’s CEO Marcy Coburn. “Of course, it helps that cuddling with a baby goat is such a sweet experience.”

Goat Festival highlights include:

* Free goat milk samples from Meyenberg, America’s #1 goat milk
* Cooking demo featuring goat cheese, by Kim Alter of Nightbird
* Angora goat wool spinning with Mountain Ranch Organically Grown
* Make-your-own-goat-horns arts and crafts for all ages
* Goat cheese tasting flights
* Goat-inspired specials throughout the farmers market, such as Rhubarb Shortcake with Goat * Cheese Cream from Batter Bakery; Stuffed Mushrooms with Goat Cheese, Pesto, Collard Greens, and * Pine Nuts from Far West Fungi Kitchen; Amazake, Goat Cheese, Turmeric, and Ginger with Shio * Koji Almond Topping from Aedan Fermented; and more
* Limited-edition goat tees and goat totes
