The Chinese Lunar New Year 4717, the Year of the Golden Boar, begins on February 5, 2019. The City of Millbrae will celebrate this special event with an one-day Lunar New Year Festival
beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd, and ending at 4:00 pm.
The Millbrae Lunar New Year Festival will begin on Saturday, March 2, 2019, with a Golden Boar Fair and Wheel of Golden Boar Children Activities feature in Chinese traditional Arts and Crafts from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM together with an outstanding outdoor stage Performance program rich with traditional Chinese music, dance, cultural arts
from noon – 4:00 PM at Millbrae Civic Plaza, 450 Poplar Avenue Millbrae, CA 94030.
At 11:30 AM, March 2, 2019, the Lucky Golden Boar Parade
will start at the Living Spaces parking lot, 855 Broadway Millbrae, CA 94030, down to the heart of Broadway business area and end at the Millbrae Civic Center Plaza. Congresswoman Speier, CA Assemblymember Kevin Mullin, Millbrae Council members, 2018 Miss Chinatown USA Pageant will participate in the parade.
Our outdoor stage Performance Program consists of Dragon Dance , Lion Dance , Tai Chi, Children Choir, tradition folk dance, and tradition music instruments like Er Hu, Flute, Guzheng.
We are very grateful that we received over 20 local businesses to provide monetary support and complete media coverages by Chinese and English media. We are also stunned to receive lots of community volunteers from local schools and residents who stop forward to offer their time. At last, Millbrae Cultural Committee wants to THANK our Mayor, City Council, City Manager and all City departments in providing their expertise to make this Festival possible.
