HBO’s ‘Big Little Lies’ is Looking for Extras

Extras, extras! Read all about it! HBO’s “Big Little Lies” is looking for extras as they get ready to shoot season 2 of the Emmy Award-winning show—right in the Monterey Bay area.

Cast members Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz are some of the celebs who are expected to return for season 2, and  HBO announced that Meryl Streep will also be joining the cast.

If hired, HBO will pay $96.00 for eight hours of work and overtime begins after eight hours of labor. You must be available to work the entire day or night of the shoot. And if you’re not hired, it’s still a win for the local economy. It was reported that, in 2016, “Big Little Lies” brought $2.5 million to the local economy in on-location spending.

The casting call announcement was posted through the Monterey County Film Commission, looking for both males and females of “all shapes, sizes and ethnicities” over the age of 6 to work as a non-union (Non-Screen Actors Guild) for background extras. The open audition will take place March 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Monterey Bay in Seaside, Ballroom D. Applicants should bring a current 3X5″ photograph of themselves and a pen.
