Chinese New Year Food Festival: Dumplings & All the Dreamy Dim Sum Delights

Looking for a downright delicious way to spend a Sunday? Or feeling overdue for a dim sum date? SoMa StrEat Food Park is bringing out all the dumplings and Chinese food delights, in honor of Chinese New Year.

Street food vendors such as Happy Dumplings, Hongry Kong, Tai Chi Jianbing, Yummi BBQ, Baby Bok Choy Bros, will be steaming, frying, baking and boiling all those craze-inducing classics like gyoza, shumai, wontons, and veggie rolls, complete with traditional fillings like shrimp, seaweed, pork belly, and cabbage. Also in the mix are all the dim sum must-haves—onion pancakes, bao buns, lotus wrapped sticky rice, fried chicken, noodles, fried rice, and more.

There will also be fortune telling by Golden Dragon Fortunes but one early piece of advice for the future: get your weekend chores out of the way on Saturday. There will be Bottomless Kumquat Mimosas. ($23-25). Cheers to Chinese New Year!

And don’t forget, the dessert. From traditional nian gao cake, also known as a New Year sweet rice cake, to egg tarts in every flavor imaginable (original, mango, lychee, strawberry, and chocolate), you’ve got options.

Come for the food but stick around for the music and art. Music by DJ Sure and visual art by FAM Collective.
