Love + Propaganda Wins National Award for Best Dance Club
At the annual Nightclub and Bar Awards in Las Vegas, a prestigious award was handed out to San Francisco club Love + Propaganda. The mostly electronic music space with a punk edge located in Union Square was recognized with a national award for “Best Dance Club,” marking the first time that this award has been brought to the Bay Area.
The recent convention is North America’s premier industry awards program, which highlights establishments from across the nation that demonstrates an outstanding dedication to innovation and set the industry standard for excellence in concept development.
Love + Propaganda, a 5,700 square foot industrial and subterranean venue, is the brainchild of David Brinkley of Audio, Bergerac, and Vessel along with Danny Hai of Vessel and former manager of Harlot. With help from their partners, Peter and Chris Doukakis of Select Entertainment and Audio, veteran Bar Manager Jo Lopez, and Director of VIP services, Nick Baross, the team brings a wide range of experiences to the table.
This space hosts intimate DJ nights most Fridays and Saturdays, with past performances including electronic acts GRYFFIN on New Year’s Eve and Madeon back in July. One enticing show coming up at Love + Propaganda is on May 12 with French producer Bob Sinclair.
The inside of the club features a cutting-edge design decorated with dark, neoclassical elements complemented by a state-of-the-art audio and visual experience. An intimate bar has a black-on-black Baccarat Chandelier, high-gloss peacock blue walls and wallpaper, and a 15-foot long labradorite bar curated with modern art.
Downstairs, Love + Propaganda becomes darker and more mysterious with a 36-foot long black granite bar with massive gold embellishments, and black patent leather seating. High definition projections and theatrical lighting make for a fully-immersive and customizable experience.
14 tables are available, each strategically placed surrounding the DJ booth and flanking the dance floor. This puts visitors right in the middle of the action while providing a backstage feel.
Music is delivered by a comprehensive Funktion One sound system, utilizing 21-inch reflex subwoofers created for smaller spaces resulting in a highly-efficient 18,000-watt system.
