Huzzah! The Northern California Renaissance Faire is returning to Hollister this Fall, each weekend from September 16 through October 15, 2017. For five weekends, the grounds of Casa de Fruta are thrust back in time and transformed into Willingtown, a village under the rule of Queen Elizabeth I. Join the fun, put on a costume, and explore the thriving world of the English Renaissance, full of delicious food, hilarious performances, incredible music and amazing hand-crafted goods!
Each weekend, the Renaissance Faire spices things up with special themes and discounts. All new this year, for opening weekend (September 16 and 17) the Faire is offering a fabulous deal: $10 off admission when you purchase your ticket online! Our second weekend features a Pirate Invasion, followed by a Heroes and Warriors themed weekend, an Oktoberfest celebration, and a Fantasy-themed extravaganza to finish off the season! In addition to the themed celebrations, every weekend also features delightful performances, including comedy shows, fortune tellers, sword fights and more.
Capture the Renaissance aesthetic by donning a costume (you can rent or buy at the Faire) and dressing as a character of the time! Create your character and become a person of any social status: a peasant, gypsy, pirate, knight, merchant, nobility or even royalty! Be sure to complete the look with face painting and hair braiding.
Attendees can meander through the Marketplace to shop from a variety of master artisans offering old world designs, hand-crafted works of art, blown glass, knives and swords, leather, wood, jewelry and much more. Juicy turkey legs, ale, cider and all sorts of Renaissance-era food are also available for hungry travelers as they journey through the streets of Willingtown.
Each day, courageous knights engage in battles of skill to entertain the Queen and her subjects. Each afternoon, attendees are invited to cheer on the knight of their choice during the famous full-contact joust in the World Tournament of Champions Arena.
Children 12 and under are admitted FREE entrance for all five weekends, so be sure to bring the whole family!
