The San Francisco conference offers more than 40 individual workshops, along with general session keynotes and pre-conference classes. Attendees are eligible to earn continuing education credits from HRCI, SHRM and WorldatWork—and CPAs can earn CPE credits.

The keynote speakers at this conference include:

- John E. Schadl, J.D. of Vanguard, “Forty Years of ERISA: What We’ve Learned and Where We’re Going”
- Paul Fronstin, Ph.D. of Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), “The Future of Employment-Based Health Benefits”
- Joel B. Shapiro, J.D. of NFP, “Governing Your Governance”
- Barry E. Beder of Beder Consulting, LLC, “Keeping Your Head in the Game”

In addition, a panel discussion entitled “What’s Keeping You Up at Night? Benefit Plan Management Hot Buttons and Solutions” features panelists from major corporations who will share their insights and experiences. Panel hot topics include cost containment, prescription drug costs, plan design options, employee communication, fiduciary and regulatory considerations and much more.

Additionally, there are two pre-conference sessions to enhance participants’ value. “Fiduciary Obligations Under ERISA” provides a comprehensive look at the fiduciary duties and obligations of retirement plan sponsors, ranging from the basic rules and regulations governing fiduciary responsibility to a more advanced look at contemporary and unfolding issues. “Self-Funding: Basic Concepts Through Advanced Strategies” covers topics including stop loss protection, claims administration, disease management, pharmacy plans, data analytics and provider networks.
