SFMOMA Picks Local Roaster Sightglass

The independent SF-based coffee roaster Sightglass, opened its second location in the Mission, in February last year and rapidly positioned itself as a destination for coffee snobs. So with the announcement of a partnership with the highly anticipated reopening of SFMOMA, 2015 is proving to be pivotal for the small company.

Earlier this year, positive buzz brewed as the holy grail of all things quality, Che Panisse, quietly switched from Blue Bottle Coffee to Sightglass, causing a stir on Twitter. SFMOMA, apparently, opted for the same trick – first came the March announcement that Blue Bottle won’t be returning for the museum’s 2016 reopening, and then the news welcoming Sightglass followed.

What a coup for Sightglass. Their coffee is already considered a work of art by coffee connoisseurs. In a year it will complement the new SFMOMA experience, amongst the Rothkos and Matisses.
