Full Lineup Announced for 58th San Francisco International Film Festival

The San Francisco International Film Festival is back for it’s 58th year, running April 23 through May 7. The San Francisco Film Society announced the full lineup today of all 181 films.

Out of the 181 films, 65 are narrative features and 35 are documentary features, with 44 countries represented. Screenings are set to take place in San Francisco at The Castro Theatre, Clay Theatre and Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, and also at the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley.

Highlights from the announcement include Opening Night film Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, a documentary from director Alex Gibney; Centerpiece film The End of The Tour starring Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel about a Rolling Stone writer who interviews writer David Foster Wallace; and Closing Night film Experimenter, which stars Peter Sarsgaard as scientist Stanley Milgram centering on his controversial electric shock experiment.

Some talent will also be in town for select screenings and awards including Richard Gere who’s receiving the Peter J. Owens Award for excellence in acting and Guillermo Del Toro who’s receiving the Irving M. Levin Directing Award.
