San Francisco’s Best Parties This Weekend

We’re a week into January, enough time to to say goodbye to New Year’s hangovers and break in 2015’s dancing shows. Here are some options to help shed those wavering resolutions.

Visit the SF Station events calendar for complete listings.

Friday, January 9: Motez at 1015 Folsom
Riding the recent revival of deep house, Australian native Motez has been praised as a producer to keep an eye on by fellow countryman Flume, and he has toured with UP dance music superstars Disclosure. Silky smooth synths with deep lounge vibes give this newcomer a unique sound.

Friday, January 9: The Capricorn Party 2015 with Seth Troxler + Dax at Public Works
One of the fastest rising and most well liked stars of house music, Seth Troxler always brings his Detroit roots to the decks. Apparently, he has a wild side, too, and is known for taking his pants off during interviews. His blend of deep and tech house is a groovy, palatable, four-on-the-floor journey for those looking to explore the more underground side of house.

Saturday, January 10: Marcus Schossow at Ruby Skye
Swedish producer Marcus Schossow is all about the big room sound. His horn-themed track with Sebjak (also spinning Saturday) “Liceu” dominated the Beatport Top 10 and his newest track “The Universe “made a big debut on Hardwell’s label, Revealed. Schossow commands a mastery of progressive house with a range of synths that go from blissful to booming.

Saturday, January 10: Fred Everything at Mighty
House veteran and locally based DJ Fred Everything will be promotions company Salted’s special guest taking over the decks at Mighty. Dubbed “everything” because his early sets would feature a wide range of genres, Fred has cultivated a smooth, deep house sound.
