Hunky Jesus Easter Party Returns Sunday at Golden Gate Park

One of the best holiday parties of the year gets a new home this weekend as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence move their annual Easter party and Hunky Jesus contest to Golden Gate Park.

Due to ongoing renovations at Dolores Park, the Sisters’ Emerald Jubilee is moving to Hellman Hollow in Golden Gate Park with it’s annual Easter Bonnet and Hunky Jesus contest, as well as a Foxy Mary contest.

Featured performers include the TrashKan Marchink Band, Boehemian Brethren, Klown Korps/Jolligood, Love Charise, Honey Mahogany, Cockatelia, Head Wig and the Etherel Merman Experience.

A child-friendly Easter celebration and Easter egg hunt starts at 10am before more adult entertainment starts at noon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their best Wizard of Oz outfits to fit the “a trip to Oz” theme this year.

The current weather forecast is mostly sunny—a nice change from last year when much of the party was rained out at Dolores Park.
