Arcade Fire Announces Bay Area Show, Likely to Headline Coachella 2014

Arcade Fire announced a new North American tour today with a stop in the Bay Area, and likely a headlining spot at Coachella 2014.

The band’s upcoming tour schedule has open dates during the two weekends of Coachella 2014 in April and the only other scheduled date in California is Not So Silent Night in Oakland next month (Enter to win tickets) and a stop at Shoreline on July 20.

All musicians booked for Coachella are subject to a “no play radius” for Southern California unless it’s a show put on by GoldenVoice, likely the reason why there are not SoCal dates listed with the announcement today.

If there were odds in Vegas, we would double down that we’ll see the Montreal rockers in Indio come April 11-13 and April 18-20.

Arcade Fire previously played Coachella in 2011, exciting the main stage crowd by dropping hundreds of giant, illuminated balls from a crane during their performance.
