Vice Brings Free Beer, Art, Music to San Francisco With Casa Indio

From Oct. 29 to Nov. 9, the Vice crew is back on the West Coast, offering free beer for eight nights in San Francisco.

The media company is partnering with Indio beer for “Casa Indio” on Folsom Street. Organizers promise art, music and culture paired with free beer for all attendees. The series also includes Halloween and Dia de los Muertos parties and a variety of DJs each night. The only catch: They ask for a $1 donation at the door to benefit Rebuilding Exchange, a company that focuses on sustainable deconstruction and construction practices.

Indio beer has been brewed and sold in Mexico since 1893, but it was only first distributed in the U.S. via Heineken USA starting last year in California and Texas. It’s a “dark beer, with its malty character and light caramel aroma,” according to company literature. But, as the saying goes: Free tastes best.
