Danny Brown Replaces Tricky at Treasure Island Fest and There’s an App for That

With only a few days left before the return of Treasure Island Music Festival, organizers made a slight change to the Saturday lineup and released a free app for the festival this week.

British rapper Tricky was scheduled to perform on Saturday during the 6:45-7:45pm time slot, but unfortunately had to cancel his appearance apparently due to visa issues. His replacement is Danny Brown, the Detroit rapper who recently released his third album, Old. Danny’s unconventional style ranges from manic squawks to low-pitched tones, so his abnormal tendencies should fit in nicely in the spot previously occupied by the equally eclectic Tricky.

Meanwhile, this year’s TIMF app for iPhone and Android is available as a free download to help guide attendees. Powered by online streaming music service Rdio, users can browse the concert schedule, listen to songs by favorite artists and follow the latest news, along with other social and digital treasures.
