Free Turkish Film Festival Coming to San Francisco August 13-15

The New People Cinema in Japantown will be hosting The Turkish Film Festivals from August 13-15 — and all three days will be free. Thanks to the Turkish Minister of Culture, who will be represented by Dr. Abdurrahman Celik (Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Director General Copyrights), Pamir Demirtas, the founder of Pinema, and the New People Cinema, San Francisco will be host to the best of contemporary Turkish cinema for three full days.

From comedy with Romantic Comedy 2 to the dramatic with the award winning Turkish Passport, the Turkish Film Festivals will illustrate how Turkey approaches film and how their culture influences their storytelling. So whether strapped for cash or a cinema lover looking to explore film from other parts of the world, The Turkish Film Festivals is a good reason to get out of the house this week and into the comfortable New People Cinema.

Head over to the festival’s official website for more information on films and showtimes.
