This Weekend: Ping Pong x Daft Punk x LCD Soundsystem
Celebrating its two-year anniversary of throwing Berlin-style ping pong parties, event organizer American Tripps is planning an evening of Daft Punk and LCD Soundsystem music paired with recreational ball games.
The mashup dance party, “LCD Soundsystem Is Playing at My House” is planned for August 3 at Rickshaw Stop with help from local cover band North American Scum.
The party includes music from both bands with foosball and skeeball on the second floor mezzanine and ping pong. There will also be a food truck out front and those that arrive early get a discount on the already bargain entry fee: $6 before 9 pm and $8 after.
LCD Soundsystem disbanded in April 2011 but their influence and popularity remains, while super duo Daft Punk is celebrating its first studio album since 2005’s Human After All with the Summer Jam of 2013, “Get Lucky.”
