Spoiler alert: there are no free, massive street parties in San Francisco. There is, however, free ice cream on Friday followed by a downtown block party for Bastille Day. Local orchestral favorites Kronos Quartet are at Stern Grove and Indie Mart is back with a special woodworking and furniture show. At Union square, film night returns with Woody Allen favorite, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Free Ice Cream
In addition to interesting flavors (Schweddy balls, anyone?) and tasty ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s has a top-notch marketing department that comes up with great ideas, including free ice cream Friday on the Embarcadero.
