Report: 2 Chainz Robbed In San Francisco

2 Chainz, one of the top rappers out, was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon in San Francisco before he performed at KMEL’s Summer Jam concert, according to reports.

JUNE 13 UPDATE: TMZ just posted a video of the robbery on the 800 block of Howard Street in SoMA. Watch it here:

Despite reports that he was relieved of his wallet during the incident and rumors that he was shot, 2 Chainz claimed on Twitter that is not the case: “Nobody took Anything from me, i didn’t get shot, I’m not in jail, Don’t know wut else to tell ya. Sorry if I disappointed anyone, maybe next time”. The video suggests otherwise with images of the gunman crouched over 2 Chainz after he tripped on the sidewalk while running away.

It’s been a rough week for 2 Chainz, who was also arrested Tuesday at LAX for packing weed (maybe some SF chronic from his ill-fated dispensary trip?) and a bottle of syrup in his luggage for an outbound trip.

According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, shots were fired during the incident and the Atlanta-based rapper’s wallet was stolen:

A San Francisco PD sergeant tells TMZ … cops responded to a shots-fired call just after 4:30 PM. We’re told when they got to the scene, 2 Chainz wasn’t cooperative … saying he wanted to handle it himself.

Chainz told police his wallet was stolen and that’s all that happened.

According to KTVU news, 2 Chainz was exiting a marijuana dispensary at the time of the robbery. No suspects were apprehended after the incident. We’ll report more details as they arrive.
