Best Picture Nominee Marathon at AMC Theatres

AMC Theatres in the Bay Area will be hosting screenings of all nine Academy Award Best Picture nominees.

For the seventh year, AMC Theatres will an Oscars Best Picture Showcase that allows viewers to watch all nine of the 2013 Academy Award Best Picture Nominees for one low price and in one or two sittings. Screening over two days, February 16 and 23, the participating theatres in the Bay Area will be Van Ness 14, Bay Street 16, Cupertino Square 16 and Mercado 20.

Beginning at 10AM on February 16, four films will be screened: Amour, Les MiserablesArgo and Django Unchained. The remaining five, Silver Linings PlaybookZero Dark ThirtyBeasts of the Southern Wild, , Lincoln, and Life of Pi, will screen on February 23.

However, for those with stamina to spare there will be a marathon screening session of all nine films on February 23, also beginning at 10am. There are also a few options for tickets. Those just interested in the films on the 16th can buy a pass for $30, for the five on the 23rd it’s $40 and either a one-day (for the 23rd) or two-day pass for all films can be had for only $60. All in all, any of the four options brings the per-film price to well under $10, a steal these days.

Whether you feel the need to catch up on this years nominees before the Oscars broadcast on February 24, want to re-watch any number of these great films or just have the superhuman ability to sit in a movie theater for an entire day, this is the film event of the season.
