Maverick Offering Fried Chicken By-the-Bucket

Mondays are now “Fried Chicken” days at Maverick in the Mission District as the restaurant is offering a new menu item for those on the go.

Maverick has always had local fried chicken on the menu since opening in 2007 and it remains one of the restaurants most popular items. Now, co-owner and general manager Michael Pierce said diners have another option. “Since the demand for our fried chicken is so high, we want to take care of the neighborhood that works hard and doesn’t have time to cook,” he said.

The “Monday Bucket” features four pieces of Southern Fried Chicken, Buttermilk Biscuit and Gumbo Gravy, Roasted Escarole and Pickled Green Beans – all for $25.

The new menu item can be picked up from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and orders will be taken by phone (415-863-3061) starting at 4:30 p.m. The offer is only available on Mondays and for to-go orders only; no delivery. Maverick will be limiting the promotion to the first 20 orders each Monday night.

Maverick is located at 3316 17th Street (between Mission and Hoff) in San Francisco.
