Where to Watch the 49ers-Falcons Game

Good beer, booze, food and plenty of TV’s to occupy your attention. That’s the perfect formula for watching the NFC Championship Game between the 49ers and Falcons on Sunday at noon. And here are a few spots to do just that:

Blackthorn Tavern – This Inner Sunset bar has long been a favorite spot for 49ers fans to gather on Sundays. There are always daily $5 drink specials, more than 30 beers on tap and by the bottle and the bar allows for other neighborhood spots to deliver food or pickup from one of those spots. A helpful hint – arrive early because like most neighborhood bars, Blackthorn will be packed on Sunday. Blackthorn is located at 834 Irving Street (between 9th and 10th avenues).

Hog & Rocks – Along with having a great food menu (can anyone say pre-game Sunday brunch?), Hog & Rocks is also offering $10 beer and shot specials for the playoffs. Last week, the choices were Victoria & Pueblo Viejo, Scrim & Old Fitz and Oatis & Jameson. Expect other bar specials as well for NFC Championship Sunday. Hog & Rocks is located at 3431 19th Street (@ San Carlos).

Independent – The Independent, normally a music venue, is putting up the big screen for the afternoon (and by big screen, we mean big screen – it’s 14 feet wide by 10 feet tall) for a free screening of the Niners-Falcons tilt. There will be a full bar with $5 Goldschlager shots, $4 Bud Light on draft. Need food? Feel free to bring in something from a neighboring Divisadero spot. The Independent is located at 628 Divisadero Street (between Grove and Hayes).

Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen – Jasper’s has been offering a special “Game Day” football menu during the 2012-13 NFL season, with discounted items ($2 for salt and pepper fries, a mini burger or sausage slider, and $2 Miller High Life or Tecate by the bottle or can). They have also created a 49ers-inspired cocktail, “The Gold Rush,” which features Wild Turkey Bourbon, Golden Honey and Lemon. Jasper’s is located at 401 Taylor Street (@ O’ Farrell).

SoMa StrEat Food Park – The mobile vendor hub is turning into tailgate central with a 49ers game day brunch. From 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, fans can pay $12 for bottomless mimosas. There will be as many as 10 food trucks/vendors on site that day. There will also be a giant 70-inch big screen to watch the game along with several other HDTVs. And if it gets chilly, relax in the heated, covered pavilion. The event is free, but bring cash for food and drinks. The SoMa StrEat Food Park is located at 428 11th Street (@ Harrison).

There are plenty of other options all around town. So get ready  Niner fans to Kaepernick all the way to the Super Bowl!
