2013 Legends of Base Ball Vintage World Series

Before you roll your eyes and think, “Oh jeez, not a bunch of septuagenarians trying to play baseballâ€, this event is different! The Vintage 9 Foundation and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association are turning the clock back 125+ years to bring you a national championship played with all the rules and equipment circa 1886! So "VINTAGE WORLD SERIES" means some of the most talented players from across the country wearing old fashioned style base ball (the game was originally written as two words) knickers, wielding heavy fat handled bats, catching with web-less mitts no bigger than your own backyard gardening glove, abiding by gentlemen's rules that have faded or been lost over the years. It's fast, it's exciting, it's unpredictable, and most of all, it's not to be missed!! COME JOIN IN THE FUN!
Notable MLB Alumni Heroes will be Playing!
The Vintage World Series will feature four of the very best vintage base ball teams in the country. And EVERY one of the teams will include All-Star, Hall of Fame, or World Series winning Major League Baseball alumni, who will don their spikes once again--connecting the game of yesteryear with the game of today.
Remember Kevin Mitchell's barehanded catch? On August 16th, 17th, and 18th he'll be displaying those skills again. But not just because of his National League MVP talent... because the 1880's rules REQUIRE him to! All the Legends will be signing autographs and chatting with fans; come meet them as they compete for a pennant one more time! PLUS, meet the very special event emcee, Hall of Fame NFL alumnus Nick Lowery!
