Weekend Party Options for Non-Burners

Every year, a good chunk of the SF party people head to the Playa in Northern Nevada for Burning Man. Although the action here slows down a bit, there are still a number of quality events  to catch this weekend.

One of SF’s favorite visiting DJs, Italian house/disco duo, Tiger & Woods at Beatbox on Friday for a special birthday edition of As You Like It. Also, on the bill for the night is Lovefingers, and Kenneth Scott, the other half of Moniker who returned from Berlin earlier this summer.

If you’d like to hear dance music on the loopier techno tip, Swedish producer, The Field, will perform with a full band at Mighty. His latest Kompakt release in 2011, Looping State of Mind, received rave reviews from Pitchfork and Resident Advisor for it’s mixture of styles meshed into a hypnotic and trance-like LP.

Saturday, The EndUp and Listed Productions present The ReSolute showcase. The leftfield techno label, which was started in 2007, gained international recognition for its parties around the world and releases from acclaimed producers, such as Maceo Plex, Kiki, and Dario Zenker. Labelhead Elon, and labelmates, Franklin De Costa and Alexi Delano, will spin accompanied by an opening set from AYLI’s Mossmoss.

Local faves, Nikola Baytala and M3 will be in the house at Monarch. The two spin back-to-back all night after an opening set from Sharon Buck.
