Liholiho Hosts Last Pop-Up – For Awhile

It has been a very successful run for Ravi Kapur and the team behind Liholiho Yacht Club, introducing his Hawaiian-influenced fare to the masses. But all good things must come to an end, at least for now.

Liholiho is holding its last pop-up on Monday night, August 20, this time at Mission Bowling Club. There are a few differences this time around: Kevin Diedrich from Jasper’s Corner Tap will be manning the bar meaning cocktails (with a tropical theme) will be flowing rather than just beer and wine. And instead of a prix fixe meal, the menu will be a la carte, as guests can pick and choose the items they’d like. Kapur said it’s the same idea as before as many items are best served family-style.

Hapa Haole, Jasper's

Liholiho started up at Citizen’s Band earlier this year before moving to Statebird Provisions. It gave Kapur a chance to get back into the kitchen after taking some time off once he left Prospect. Now, as first reported by the Tablehopper, he has signed on to be the guest chef at Piccino for two months (September and October), replacing former chef Rachel Sillcocks, who has landed at Range. Kapur will head the kitchen until a permanent replacement is named. “It was nice to not have to be in a kitchen everyday,” he said of his time off. “I got to spend a lot of time with my wife and son and just enjoy life. But I’m excited to be back.”

Below is the working menu. Although the dinner is fully booked, there are plenty of spaces for walk-ins throughout the night (dinner service starts at 6:00 p.m.). Expect plenty of great food, great drinks and great stories.
