Cheap Eats at Costco

Costco customers get new menu choices at the food court this year. Frugal customers have long been lured by the unbeatable bargain priced hot dog and soda for $1.50, since 1985. Costco sells more than 70 million hot dog combos each year.

Last year’s addition of a beef bake with guacamole and salsa for $3.79, proved unpopular among food court regulars. Even though the original chicken bake with cheese remains a favorite regular item. So recently this year, the company decided to replace the failed menu item with a turkey and provolone sandwich, priced affordably at $3.99. It is served on a ciabatta roll, and includes deli turkey meat, provolone, red onion, tomato, and pesto. Company officials hope the cheesy filling will win over customers.

Tip: Visitors don’t need a Costco membership card to eat at the food court. But in case anybody asks, non members could just say that you are going to the customer service desk to open a new membership.
