Mission Landmark Adobe Books to Close

Adobe Books, a 24-year-old neighborhood institution, has announced they will be closing their doors at the end of August much to the chagrin of local readers.

In a report out today, Mission Local writes that owner Andrew Mckinley has been forced to shutter the bookstore due to the rising cost of rent and a dwindling number of customers.

A concert will be held June 27 at the store to help preserve the space as a member-collective owned bookstore and art gallery and community forum, but additional support will likely be needed in order to keep Adobe Books alive even in its new incarnation.
