Pride Month: The National Queer Arts Festival

All throughout the month of June, events will be happening throughout the city celebrating the fifteenth annual National Queer Arts Festival.

Scattered about the city will be multidisciplinary lectures, spoken word literary art events, poetry readings, visual art exhibitions, workshops, dance concerts and comedy performances. Events happening the week of June 18 through June 22 include Girl Junk with Morgan at the Garage, Crackpot Crones with sketch comedy duo Terry Baum and Carolyn Myers and a comedy night titled Marga and The Babes hosted by award winning comic Marga Gomez.

Local San Francisco playwright Enrique Urueta, who made waves with his 2010 satire Learn to be Latina–a vigorous romp exploring the politics of identity–premieres his newest comedy Sex Tips for Straight Chicks at La Pena on June 21 at 7:30 pm.

For a full listing of events see the Queer Cultural Center site.
