For those who still haven’t figured out what to get the dads on their list for Father’s Day, here are a few sales and an event we thought might might come in handy.

Father’s Day Whiskey Tasting

Explore the history of Japanese Whiskey with a tasting event hosted by Cask, Umami Mart and Suntory on Father’s Day at Local Edition. $100 buys admission for two adults and a bottle of Hibiki 12-year-old whiskey wrapped in a limited edition furoshiki cloth designed by artist Shinsuke Kawahara. Suntory is a Japanese brewing and distilling company that’s been in the business since 1899, which leads us to think they’ve had plenty of time to perfect the arts.

As for the furoshiki, (Japanese scarf), Kawahara’s design features a block print image of one of Japanese whiskey’s founding fathers, Shinjiro Torri’s face.

Father & Sun Party

Foggy Notion in the Inner Richmond is hosting a party Saturday, June 16 to celebrate Father’s Day and summer solstice. Shoppers can enjoy free snacks and beverages while shopping for last-minute gifts. Foggy Notion recommendations for gifts to suit the occasion include leather or wooden coaster sets from Last Ave and Anzer Farms, respectively, Mittenmaker (Foggy Notion owner Alissa Anderson’s own line) key fobs and wallets, organic aftershaves and beard/hair oils from Fit+Yarrow and more. Robyn Miller will also be on hand with vintage clothes and accessories from her Little Eagles Vintage collection.
