As senators consider supporting legislation that cuts aid to programs that support family farmers and healthy eating in schools across the land, they are perfectly willing to hand out billions of dollars in subsidies to corporate mega-farms. You know, the ones that only are interested in growing the largest of the cash crops, specifically corn and soy, which are used largely to produce sweeteners and additives and do very little to contribute to a well-balanced diet.

Fortunately, with enough public outcry our politicians are forced to consider their constituents.
