A Few Unique Father’s Day Ideas

Father’s Day is once again upon us, giving wives and kids a chance to treat dad like a king for a day. If you’re tired of doing the normal brunch thing, here are a few fun, unique options in the Bay Area that any dad is sure to appreciate.

Wente Vineyards – Livermore: Wente Vineyards is hosting an event on Sunday called “Wines, Bets & Mobile Eats.” The event, from 12-4 p.m. will include food trucks like Southern Sandwich Co., Rick Rockit, le truc and Kara’s Cupcakes. There will also be plenty of wine to try out from Wente Vineyards, Murrieta’s Well and Double Decker. The event is complimentary, wine tasting is $15, $10 for Wente members. Wente Vineyards is located at 5050 Arroyo Road in Livermore.

The Winery SF – Treasure Island: The Winery SF is offering fathers a special gift this Father’s Day. From 12-5 p.m., dads can enjoy a free wine tasting with the purchase of a wine tasting of greater or equal value. Located on Treasure Island at 200 California Avenue, Building 180 North.

Local Edition – San Francisco: Cask, Umami Mart and Suntory are presenting a Father’s Day whisky tasting at Local Edition on Sunday. The presentation will be led by Suntory’s Neyah White. It will explore the history of Japan and the West through a series of barrel samples. One ticket ($100) is good for admission of two adults for the seminar and tasting and one bottle of Hibiki 12 year whisky in a specially wrapped traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth designed by artist Shinsuke Kawahara. Local Edition is located at 691 Market Street in San Francisco. There are two events (1-3 pm and 5-7 pm).

Presidio Social Club – San Francisco: Presidio Social Club is hosting its 6th Annual Pig Roast Soiree on Sunday. The vintage Hawaiian-themed event will take place on the back patio from 4-7 p.m. Chef Ryan Tang will be roasting two all-natural Yosemite Valley pigs. Mai Tais, beer and wine will also be flowing that afternoon along with live reggae music. And one lucky guest decked out in retro Hawaiian garb could win a Pig Roast at their home. Festivities kick off with a pig-carving class by Chef Tang at 3:00 p.m. Presidio Social Club is located at 563 Ruger Street in San Francisco.
