Two Gallants Release "Broken Eyes" Track

What’s five years amongst friends? There has been much speculation, but the the duo is devoted and SF-based Two Gallants are back with a new full length to be released in September and an MP3 – “Broken Eyes”-  to tide us over until then.

Having played music together since they were 12, Adam Stephens and Tyson Vogel  started performing as Two Gallants in 2002, and through a rigorous touring schedule and the rawness and sincerity of their live show, the duo garnered media praise and a rabid following. Their style is a cross between bluesy rock, swing- folk and lo-fi. They acknowledge and address their influences while still interjecting a raw and ravaged edge. Oh, and the songs are catchy as hell. One guitar, one drum set and vocals so live they almost sound like they are escaping Stephens’ throat as opposed to being sung – Two Gallants are back and judging from their new single “Broken Eyes”, they have lost none of the charm they honed 10 years ago. After a five-year hiatus, the band has signed to ATO Records and plans to release The Bloom and The Blight, produced by John Congleton (The Walkmen, Explosions In The Sky, St. Vincent), on September 4th. You can catch them at Outside Lands here in SF or at FYF Fest in Los Angeles if you are jonesing for a down and dirty folk fix before the release. Listen to “Broken Eyes” HERE.

Two Gallants play Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park on August 10-12.
