Rock the Bells Shows Love for the West Coast, Expands to Two Days

West Coast rap finally gets good representation at Rock the Bells this year with a lineup featuring some of California’s best MCs, including Kendrick Lamar, E-40 & Too Short and Ice Cube.

The festival, usually dominated by MCs from everywhere except the West Coast, expands to two days at Shoreline Amphitheatre on August 25th and 26th. Missy Elliott and Timbaland, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kid Cudi, festival regular Nas and Wiz Khalifa headline, but it’s the undercard that brings a fresh look for lineup. Del the Funky Homosapien will perform his classic Deltron 3030 with Dan the Automator and Kid Koala, E-40 is partnering with Too Short for a set, and Zion-I, The Grouch and Eligh start the day. Meanwhile, newcomers Kendrick Lamar and Tyga hold it down for L.A. while Ice Cube and Compton’s own DJ Quik represent the old school.
