T.G.I. Friday's adds New Value Menu Options

On Thursday of last week, T.G.I. Friday’s issued a press release announcing that it was adding more value priced items and variety to their menu with “17 new mouthwatering dishes, following current flavor trends.”

The press release made special note of the Korean steak tacos, and supplied a sample picture of them (see above). I won’t deny that the food on the photo looks appetizing, however I really thought that the Korean tacos trend was finally over. Apparently, the corporate folks at T.G.I. Friday’s don’t mind being late to the party. Specifically, 2 years after fellow chain restaurant, California Pizza Kitchen did the same, and 4 years since Roy Choi’s Kogi food trucks were peddling the original Korean taco in the streets of Los Angeles, not to mention all the copycats that followed. Strangely, the release text specified 17 new dishes but only listed 15 items (see list below). Apparently, they don’t proofread their memos either.

So if you happen to be at the SFO airport or the San Mateo T.G.I. Friday’s locations, wondering if there was anything new worth trying. Well, now you know.
