Jane's Addiction and Wiz Khalifa to headline SF Radio Station Concerts

This week, two top bay area radio stations announced their summer concerts: Live 105’s BFD show headlined by Jane’s Addiction and KMEL’s Sumer Jam featuring Wiz Khalifa.The lineup for Summer Jam features nine popular hip hop artists, including 23-year-old rapper Wiz Khalifa, who just headlined the massive 420 party at Civic Auditorium, and Rick Ross. Other young artists on the lineup are Diggy, son of Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, and the rapper-entrepreneur responsible for the energy drink Hyphy Juice, Clyde Carson & The Team. Summer Jam will also feature Wale, Big Sean, J. Cole and Elle Varner. Tickets for the show, June 10 at Oracle Arena, went on sale today.

Live 105‘s BFD 2012 will satisfy the bay area’s rock fans with a lineup including 40 acts on 4 stages, featuring several 90s artists like Jane’s Addiction, Garbage, Pennywise and Cake at the top of the bill.  There will also be a slew of newer favorites like Silversun Pickups, The Naked and Famous and Fun., the indie-pop band known for the inescapable hit single “We Are Young.”

Fans have the opportunity to discover some up-and-coming bands they may not have heard yet, like indie synth rock bands Walk the Moon and Dirty Ghosts.  As Live105 plays a mix of genres, hip hop artists like Amplive & Eligh, as well as the bay area’s own female rapper K Flay, can be seen at BFD. If attendees find themselves in need of a break from the rock, DJ sets by The Limousines, Party Ben and others will offer proper variation. BFD takes place at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View at 11am on Saturday June 2nd. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, April 28 at 10am.
