In the Chinese city of Dongyang in the central Zhejiang Province, the locals enjoy a delicacy said to have “miraculous health properties”: eggs boiled in the urine of little boys. This may possibly be the most disgusting thing we’ve ever heard anyone eating.

Elementary schools around town have buckets in the boys bathrooms to collect their urine. Vendors then soak and boil eggs in vats of the urine. And for that extra special touch, the eggs’ shells are cracked and left to gently simmer in the urine for hours. HOURS.

Apparently no one really knows how this all started only that people in the region have been doing it for centuries.
